New NYPD statistics show an increase in homicides and shootings since the New York SAFE Act was passed in 2013. Tom King, president of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, explains that the trend is actually worse, because some violent crimes are now being reclassified as non-violent. In addition, many provisions of the SAFE Act have still not been implemented due to impracticability. He reports that new legislation is being introduced to roll back provisions of the act, due to the election of pro-gun legislators. The NYSRPA is examining the bills, and will issue recommendations shortly. Originally aired on the Sportsman Channel 03/04/15.
