The Iowa Senate has unanimously passed SF 392, legislation that would create an apprentice hunting license for adults. It would allow first-time hunters to try out hunting with an experienced mentor prior to completing a hunter education course. It is part of the 35-state national Families Afield program, a joint effort of the National Rifle Association, the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the National Wild Turkey Federation, and the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation.
