The Kansas House and Senate have passed SB 45, NRA-backed permitless carry legislation, now on its way to Governor Sam Brownback for consideration. The bill would keep the state's current concealed carry permit system for state-by-state reciprocity, but would no longer require law-abiding gun owners to have a concealed carry permit. Patricia Stoneking, president of the Kansas State Rifle Association, says there is a great deal of excitement over the vote, and expects it to be signed into law by Governor Brownback.
