New York State Representative Eliot Engel has introduced the "Armor Piercing Bullets Act," and Democratic members of Congress are proposing similar legislation. They cite the need to protect law enforcement officers as the reason. Former NYPD officer John Cardillo discusses the idea of protecting police officers as a new reason for gun control. Cardillo explains that many law enforcement officers are hunters and recreational shooters themselves, and see the ban effort in the name of officer safety as nonsensical. He says that all modern rifle ammunition would become a target for a ban under such a rationale. Originally aired on NRA News Cam & Co 03/16/15.
