Following shooting incidents of staff of health care facilities, a Harvard Crimson editorial called for more gun control, although it did not know of a law that would help. Dr. Robert Young of Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership has commented on this and similar incidents. They occurred in "gun-free zones," where citizens are forbidden to carry concealed firearms for their self-defense. Dr. Young notes that the medical professional is officially represented by a pro-gun control association, and discussions about self-defense can only place privately.
