The struggle to change New York knife law continues for Doug Ritter, chairman and executive director of Knife Rights. He reports that the organization can claim two victories and one loss for the state's legislative session. A ban on machetes has been stopped, as well as criminalizing ivory-handled knives. Disappointingly, the New York Senate has adjourned without voting on A.4821, which would require the state to find criminal intent in cases involving a simple folding or gravity knife.
