As the legislative session draws to a close in Sacramento, California, several major pieces of firearms control legislation are receiving last minute hearings and votes including Assembly Bills 1810 and 1934. AB 1810, a bill to establish a long gun registry, has been placed in the inactive file and has likely been defeated thanks to the efforts of California gun owners who contacted their lawmakers. AB 1934 is still alive and would outlaw the open carrying of a handgun for self- defense. Cam Edwards speaks with NRA-ILA California State Liaison Ed Worley for a final update on this session.
