NRA-ILA Michigan State Liaison Darin Goens talks to Ginny Simone about Michigan House Bills 5972 and 5973, which would streamline the process of buying a handgun in the state. Michigan residents are currently required to pass a written test and obtain a "permit to purchase," after which they have only ten days in which to buy the gun. The bills under consideration in the House would make the purchasing process similar to that used in 35 other states, but gun owners would still be required to register their firearms with state police.
