Legislators in Illinois have recently voted down a measure that would have allowed citizens the right-to-carry firearms for self-defense. Two years ago, 71-year old Mary Shepard and a co-worker were viciously attacked and beaten by a repeat offender with a violent past who should not have been on the street. Shepard has now teamed up with the NRA as the lead plaintiff in a lawsuit to fight for Illinois citizens' Second Amendment rights on a new front. Ginny Simone speaks with NRA Attorney Bill Howard about her story. Originally aired 5/16/2011.
