For the first time in history, the United States Constitution was read as Congress convened for the 112th session. Ginny Simone speaks with Representative Bob Goodlatte of Virginia who proposed the idea. Rep. Goodlatte explains that the intent behind the reading was to show voters that they were heard last November when they elected a new Republican majority to the legislature. He also discusses the new policy that will require all proposed legislation be documented and reconciled with the Constitution before it is heard. Originally aired 1/6/2011.
