The Second Amendment is Not a Second-Class Amendment

In June, U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez issued a preliminary injunction blocking California's ban on ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. In a strongly worded opinion, Judge Benitez made clear that the Second Amendment is not a second-class Amendment and that the ban on so-called "high-capacity" magazines would take away private property without compensation and turn law-abiding citizens into what he calls "outlaws." California Attorney General Xavier Becerra has appealed the ruling.

In this exclusive report, Ginny talks to one of the plaintiffs in the case. Virginia Duncan says it is about the right to self-defense, including the right for her and hundreds of thousands of gun owners to personally choose to own these magazines. "You have the right to protect yourself," she notes of the Second Amendment. "Who are you to tell me that I can't have that?" Sheriff Donny Youngblood of Kern County, California concurs: "The Constitution is our roadmap. And when we start writing our own roadmap, we're in trouble."
