Ann Smith and Mark Keefe: The Ladies Pistol Project

The Ladies Pistol Project began as an informal study by American Rifleman's Ann Smith. Certain models of handguns were thought to be more female-friendly, but were they? In Ladies Pistol 1, a total of 35 women shot 18 different pistols. Ann and Editor-in-Chief Mark Keefe say that the results were surprising. Revolvers were expected to be more popular, but the participants didn't like the double-action and recoil. The semi-auto Sig Sauer P238 was the clear winner. In the more formal Ladies Pistol 2, 55 women shot 24 different pistols. The results are being shared this weekend at the first NRA Carry Guard Expo in Milwaukee. Originally aired on Cam & Co 08/25/17.
