Jim Geraghty is a senior political correspondent for the National Review. He discusses the issue of eating meat and the farm animals that provide it. Cam wrote a piece for National Review, "In Defense of Farmers, Hunters and Meat-Eaters," in response to an article by Matthew Scully. There were thoughtful responses by vegans and vegetarians, but also the furious reaction of The Angry Vegan. Jim says that his own line in the sand is any animal he had as a pet. Deciding your own rules about eating meat is fine, but forcing malicious moral outrage on others is not. Why not be practical and make sure that the lives of farm animals are humane, or better?
