Dave Kopel: Firearms United Pushes Back Against Proposed EU Gun Control Rules
The recent terrorist attacks in Europe have prompted member states of the European Union to propose even tighter gun control rules. Although semi-automatic rifles would still be legal for private ownership, medical checks would be required before getting a license to buy a firearm, and online sales would be curtailed. Dave Kopel, research director of the Independence Institute, says that most U.S. stories are a repeat of an EU press release. Things are not going in the right direction, but it is far from finalized. A better source of information is the pro-gun group, Firearms United. They have organized across the EU and pushed back hard against the rules. Originally aired on Cam & Co 12/22/16.
