In a surprising turn of events, the San Fransisco-based United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit struck down a ban on openly-carried firearms in the state of Hawaii. The notoriously liberal court announced in a 2-1 decision that the Second Amendment does, in fact, protect citizens' right to keep and bear arms outside of their homes for self-defense.
