Ginny Simone sat down with Sandy Ward, who lost two grandchildren and a daughter-in-law during the church attack in Sutherland Springs, Texas. Ward's grandson was also shot five times, and the 5-year-old is still in the hospital facing a long road of recovery ahead.
The grieving grandmother admitted she was still numb from the attack and called the shooter a coward. "They know people at church aren't armed," said Ward. "We're a small town, it takes a while for the police to get here."
Ward also applauded Stephen Willeford, the hometown hero who stopped the shooter. And in response to the calls for gun control that came in immediately following the shooting, she had this to say: "We don't need more gun laws. Good, honest people need guns to protect them from the criminals."
