Michelle Matus: My Protector Has Kept Me Safe

If I Didn't Have a Way to Protect Myself, I Don't Know That I Would Be Here

A carjacker ripped open Michelle Matus' door and swung a knife at her face. She saved her life with her firearm. These are her own words...

My weapon has – I wouldn't even call it a weapon – my protector has kept me safe.

So that was definitely a hard decision. But ultimately a decision that saved my life. And if I didn't have a way to protect myself, I don't know that I would be here. If you take away the guns from people who are law-abiding citizens, then we're defenseless against criminals who do have weapons.

So right now, I am very happily pregnant with my first child, and I want to make sure that we're safe. And I'd like to keep it that way.
